Caroline Tracey is a writer and geographer whose work focuses on land, water, and people in arid and semi-arid environments.

Originally from Colorado, she holds a BA in Russian Literature from Yale University. As a PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley, she studies land use, governance, and transformation in the American West. She previously held a Fulbright research fellowship to Kyrgyzstan and worked as a nonprofit administrator and cattle ranch hand.
